“The California Annual Precipitation Tool (CAPT) was a huge benefit to our organization this year both planning budgets and also planning our strategic communications. This tool turned our efforts from a shot in the dark to planning based on actionable information. I can't recommend it highly enough.”
Tim Johnson, President & CEO, California Rice Commission
“Reliable predictions of California's Central Valley water year precipitation, made in the Fall, have massive sector-specific and societal benefits. Significant research investments in seasonal and sub-seasonal prediction are being made elsewhere with only limited expectations for actionable skill. The 7-yr track record of the CAPT predictions by Weather Tools is unexpected, remarkable and clearly worth paying close attention to. With add'l validation-based development, CAPT has the potential to revolutionize seasonal precipitation forecasting in California and deliver significant societal benefits.”
Rob Hartman, Former Hydrologist-in-Charge, CA-NV River Forecast Center
"Purchasing a subscription to the California Annual Precipitation Tool (CAPT) from Weather Tools, Inc has proven to be an invaluable asset. I wholeheartedly recommend this service to any business owner seeking to make data-driven decisions and secure a competitive advantage. One of the most significant impacts of the CAPT service was on my equipment purchasing decisions. CAPT called for a significantly wetter than normal water year and that, in combination with several other factors, gave me the confidence I needed to move forward with the purchase of a new harvester. Furthermore, having a clear understanding of the expected water year and the impact on farmable acreage, I was able to better strategize and optimize my income and tax planning."
